Methodology & sources

How it works

  • Editorial seed. Each company is assigned a category and themes and gets a short qualitative description with no figures. Inclusion means the company is relevant to AI or robotics; it is not an endorsement.
  • Weekly data refresh (last run 2026-11-02). Listing data, prices and market capitalisation come from Yahoo Finance; the SEC registrant, industry, latest annual revenue (XBRL companyfacts) and recent filings from SEC EDGAR; and ETF holdings from Global X and ARK holdings files, plus top-10 holdings from Yahoo Finance for the other ETFs.
  • AI & Robots Mention Index. Counts of AI, robotics and physical-AI terms in the primary documents of companies' SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, 40-F and interim 6-K reports), per 10,000 words. It is descriptive, not a signal. Methodology.
  • No invented data. When a source fails or cannot verify a value, the field is left blank. Every fact shows its source link and an as-of date.
  • Private companies get only their listing status, website and the public source for the status.
