Developers
A JSON API and a remote MCP server so AI agents and developers can query the directory: company snapshots with source-linked facts, ETF exposure, the AI & Robots Mention Index and screening. Every response carries a citation and a short disclaimer.
Quick start
No sign-up. Start with the free sample; it returns the same shapes as the paid endpoints.
curl https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/sample/companies/nvidia
curl "https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/sample/mentions?sort=change&group=ai"
curl "https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/sample/places?near=39.74,-104.99"
curl https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/companies # all slugs (free)const res = await fetch("https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/sample/companies/nvidia");
const { data, meta, disclaimer } = await res.json();
console.log(data.name); // "NVIDIA"
console.log(meta.citation); // cite the company page
console.log(disclaimer); // keep it with the dataimport requests
r = requests.get("https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/sample/companies/nvidia", timeout=10)
body = r.json()
print(body["data"]["name"]) # "NVIDIA"
print(body["meta"]["citation"]) # cite the company page

GET/api/v1/places?near=lat,lng&radius_km=&type=&country=&limit= | Public places where robotics and AI can be seen in person. near sorts by straight-line distance (radius_km default 100); type is one of robotaxi, restaurant, museum, showroom, factory-tour, delivery-robots, event; country is a name or ISO code. | Paid |
GET/api/v1/places/{slug} | One place: what you can see, address, coordinates and precision, website/booking URL, cost, access notes, event timing, related companies, source URLs and last verified date. | Paid |
Groups: ai, robots, physical (physical AI). Rates are mentions per 10,000 words; change is in rate points versus the previous comparable filing (annual vs annual, 10-Q vs 10-Q, 6-K vs 6-K). See the Mention Index methodology. The free sample covers nvidia, tesla, intuitive-surgical and BOTZ, place search (5 rows) and the places waymo-robotaxi-denver, computer-history-museum-ai-robotics-gallery, automate. Place coordinates are the venue, or the city centre for service areas (geo_precision); hours are not listed. See Where to see it.
MCP server
Remote MCP over Streamable HTTP at https://airoboticsdirectory.com/mcp. Stateless: no session needed. Tools mirror the API, and paid tools follow the same payment rules.

Free API responses carry RateLimit-Policy and an ETag (send If-None-Match for a 304). CORS is open on the API, MCP, Markdown pages, data files and discovery files.
Pricing
No accounts, no subscriptions needed to start.
Free
The /api/v1/sample endpoints, /api/v1/companies, the OpenAPI spec, the free MCP tools and the open datasets companies.json, mentions.json and places.json. Light per-IP rate limit.
Pay per call
About $0.01 USDC per call with x402: the API answers 402 Payment Required with the payment requirements, your agent pays and retries with a PAYMENT-SIGNATURE header. No account or API key. Failed calls (4xx/5xx) are not settled.
Monthly plan
An API key sent as X-API-Key, for people who prefer a monthly plan (planned at $49/month). Not on sale yet.
503 with a pointer to the free sample.How x402 payments work
An open HTTP payment standard for agents. Works with x402 client libraries such as @x402/fetch.
- Call a paid endpoint. The response is
402with an x402 v2PaymentRequiredobject (in the body and, base64-encoded, in thePAYMENT-REQUIREDheader): schemeexact, network, USDC asset, amount and the receiving address. - Your client signs a USDC transfer authorisation for that amount and retries with the
PAYMENT-SIGNATUREheader. - The API has a facilitator verify the payment, returns the data and settles it; the receipt comes back in
PAYMENT-RESPONSE.
import { wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig } from "@x402/fetch";
import { ExactEvmScheme } from "@x402/evm";
const pay = wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig(fetch, {
schemes: [{ network: "eip155:8453", client: new ExactEvmScheme(account) }],
});
const res = await pay("https://airoboticsdirectory.com/api/v1/companies/nvidia"); MCP clients pay the same way through the x402 MCP transport: a paid tool returns the payment requirements as a tool error, and the client retries with the payment in _meta["x402/payment"].
